Puebla de los Infantes Road. The José Torán’s Reservoir, built in the 20th century, is located on the Arroyo Guadalbarcar/Víbora riverbed, being part of the cities of Constantina, Lora del Río and Puebla de los Infantes, enclosed in the vicinity of Seville’s “Sierra Norte” Natural Park. The surrounding forests are of holm oaks and cork oaks.
The vegetation is, therefore, typical of the Mediterranean climate, even though, due to the large level of rainfall, there are other more demanding species in water such as the gall oak and the Pyrenean oak, also known as melojo oak.
As for the fauna, deer are the most characteristic representatives of the large herbivorous peninsular mammals, together with wild boars. Foxes, polecats, badgers, mongooses, wild cats and otters are also found. Regarding birds, you can enjoy the presence of the imperial eagle, the black vulture, the blackbird and the black stork. The resource currently has a hydric and recreational function.
